What do Dr Jeckle, Aspartame & Formaldehyde have in Common?

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Like Dr. Jeckel, aspartame turns into something different when ingested.

If you look young for your age and you drink diet soda then to say your well preserved might be an understatement. If you get migraines or know someone who does, then this is even more relevant.

A study by the University of Miami in Florida, USA found that migraines might be linked to aspartame.

When we drink aspartame it turns into formaldehyde. This is not some urban legend web scare tactic. This is right from Pub Med, the government web site that prints abstracts of the peer reviewed medical journals.

You can see it here…Aspartame and Migraines: A Possible Connection

The underlying cause of many health problems are often the toxins we ingest.
We need to not only eliminate the toxins, we need to detoxify our bodies. The best way to do this is by boosting our intercellular glutathione.

Good Health to you.

Something Wonderfully Weird

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I came across a truly weird and yet wonderful way to energize yourself and lose weight in the process.

Without getting geeky on you as to how or why it works, just ask this question of yourself.

What do I have to lose? Besides the weight, which is a secondary benefit, do this and you will feel more energized.

Ready….

First the disclaimer…

Do not do this if you have any medical conditions where this would be contraindicated. Do not do this if you have just had a lot to drink, especially the alcoholic kind of drink. Do not do this if common sense says you should not. And do not do this unless your doctor says it is ok to do.

Simply hold your arms out horizontal and as you look straight ahead, hold one to the left and one arm to the right. Palms facing the floor.

Now, spin in a circle the same way a clock does.

It will make you dizzy. If you feel nauseous, you will need to start slower.

By the way, if you ever feel dizzy and nauseous and you have not spun in a circle, you need to go to an ER. Not to your doctor, to an ER. You may have a life threatening condition. Ticking time bomb life threatening. Go, now.

Otherwise, start slow. Rest a minute in between each set. Work up to twenty revolutions and work up to about 4-5 sets.

I will be out of town for a few days. More when I come back.

Let me know what becomes.

Good health to you.

Major Disaster

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

After eating something that had MSG my weight went up to where I started from.

Do a web search on MSG. This is something that needs to be out of your diet if you want to lose weight.

It will be expensive to buy organic meats and spices that have no preservatives.

It appears the culprit was some V8 juice my wife put in the chilly she made last evening.

The Readers Digest Diet

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Many years ago I read of the Readers Digest Diet.

It consisted of eating nothing white. No milk, no sugar, no white bread, no refined pasta, and nothing that was white and refined in any way.

Well, in studying up on weight loss, this is one of the first things to get rid of.

I actually have a diet plan formulating. I am shooting for 90 lbs in six months.

It started on the first of July, 2008. How is it going so far? Today, we are down from 290 to 282.5.

How is it being done.

1) Boosting my glutathione both by diet and supplements.
2) Never skip meals.
3) Eat balance of 1/4th protein, 1/4th carbohydrates and 1/2 vegetables.
4) Replacing all foods with organic.
5) Drinking 2 spoons of cherry juice mixed in water every evening.

So even if I have a bowl of cereal and milk (I have to use up what we have then no more) I will eat two slices of bacon.

Interesting side effect. Eating less, never hungry, and the weight is dropping.

And I have not even started exercise yet.

Try it for yourself.

Good Health to you.

Parkinson’s and Poision, the Result of Toxins in Our Diet

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

What steps can you take now to decrease the chances of getting Parkinson’s after age 60?

The most basic step, eliminate toxins like pesticides from our diet. This means both buy organic and wash your vegetables. Of course this goes way beyond just improving memory. Even so, this will help memory too.

Impact of dietary exposure to food contaminants on the risk of Parkinson’s disease. This study may seem like it doesn’t apply to you if you don’t eat one of the main unusual foods in the diets of the study group.

However, you are missing the point.

Please note that the chemical exposure and especially the two chemicals, especially the methyl-mercury.

Question….If you ingest toxins and or heavy metals, where is your body going to store them if it does not get disposed of.

Answer….the brain.

Solution….Best to avoid the toxins.

Next best….Include in your diet the food or supplements that will help your body detoxify.

Glutathione the best way to prevent Parkinson’s Disease.

Boost Glutathione With Diet by increasing the intake of foods that have cysteine.

Does Cancer Have a Sweet Tooth?

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

We humans are attracted to pleasure and tend to avoid pain. We also have a need for immediacy. We want instant gratification.

Your instant gratifying pleasure seeking sweet tooth may be causing you more pain than you could imagine.

Check out this study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Glycemic Index, Glycemic Load, and Cancer Risk. In non geek terms, it basically means cancer loves sugar.

More importantly, the results from foods that boost our sugar puts us at higher risk of cancer.

The solution, keep the sweets to a minimum.

Eat them with a balanced diet to off set the effect.

Always eat a balanced meal.

Get exercise (even if it is just parking in the farthest spot in the lot)

And most of all, skip the bagel and cream cheese at the morning meeting.

How

Like immediacy, we can tend to quality quantify things. What would it take to make a bagel a 10 on the food scale.

I am talking having a bagel worth dyeing for. A perfect bagel with cream cheese. Perhaps fresh strawberry preserves. And the bagel is just perfect, the New York City kind.

Lets take that bagel and make it a 2 on the 10 scale. Suppose the bagel was not fresh out of the oven. Tastes great but not perfect.

What would it take to make it a 0. You could eat it or leave it? Maybe if it had been setting out for a while before you ate it. Not sure how long but long enough.

What would it take to make it a (and for the sake of time lets jump to) negative 10?

Suppose the person preparing had mistakenly went into the restroom with the tray of bagels. Then he dropped the try on the floor. An exceptionally dirty floor.

No problem he thinks. Since these were flown in from New York City, we cannot waste them. So he gets a clean towel and proceeds to clean them off. Actually he dusts them off to be precise.

Besides, nobody will notice once the cream cheese is spread.

How would you feel about even touching one?

Now….consider the study above. You know your not going to be able to do any exercise all day. You will just be sitting, enjoying the thoughts of having eaten your bagel.

Your bagel has not been dropped on the floor. Rather it is your personal future diagnosis of cancer.

There is a saying about the Devil. His offerings have one thing in common. They are all free. They may cost your life, but they are free.

In this case the future cancer you could get is free. Matter of fact, it is even pleasurable.

The question you need to ask…

Is this pleasure going to be worth the future cancer I may get?

bona-petite.
