Organic Food is Better, Really

Monday, November 30th, 2009

In the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, an article, Nutritional quality of organic foods: a systematic review, basically indicated that there is no or little benefit from Organically grown food as compared to the food grown by conventional methods.

There is one major aspect of the study that was overlooked. The part that was overlooked is why organic food is better.

Organic foods are free of pesticides and hormones.

Consider milk. Many have found that they can drink milk once they switch to organic milk.

Good Health to You.

Not on My Watch: Preventing Healthcare-Associated Infections

Friday, November 13th, 2009

One thing everyone can agree on, no matter where they come down on the current health care debates, is that no one should get sick as a result of visiting the doctor.

Hospitals are rightfully expected to get you better but that’s not always the case. Sometimes people are picking up infections, from pneumonia to antibiotic-resistant staph (MRSA), while under treatment for other health problems, or even while just in the hospital having a baby. That’s a situation that could, and should be completely avoidable.

Kimberly-Clark Health Care is on the forefront of protecting patients from Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) and has put together a site dedicated to that prevention called HAI Watch: Not on My Watch. The site has information for both healthcare professionals and healthcare consumers.

Alternative to H1N1 Vaccine: Boosting Your Glutathione

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Aside from the availability of the H1N1 vaccine shots, is the question: Should I take the shot or not?

There are a lot of famous people saying NO, do not do it. One even said you would be stupid to take it.

I have a problem with this. The ulterior reason people take the shot is to maintain their health. For many it is to protect their family, friends and even patients or customers. Protecting your own health so you can be there for your family is an act of love. Nobody has the right to criticize you for this.

There are doctors who claim you should. Dr. Oz is one of those who promote the vaccine. However when questioned, he admitted that his own wife and children would not be receiving the vaccination.

Why all the hoopla about H1N1? It seems that this vaccine contains additional substances that are not normally used in the seasonal flu shot. In some instances, and rarely at that, there have been devastating results. Check out this video:

YouTube on H1N1

So, if you choose to take the shot or not is personal. If you promote that someone should not and they follow your advice, then they or a family member get the flu and die, are you willing to live with the consequences?

On the other hand, if you choose to not get the shot, this may not be wise either. That is, if you do nothing else to protect yourself and your family.

The question to ask: What if there was a better way to boost immunity to protect oneself from H1N1.

What if there was a safer way.

What if there was a way with scientific proof that it worked.

Even better, what if the scientific proof predated the current pandemic, ensuring there was not bias or rush to judgment.

If so, check out the studies found on the safer alternative.

If you want an alternative, consider boosting your glutathione.

H1N1 Swine Flu Info

Neither should be used by organ transplant recipients.

The first is the best and has the most scientific studies, virtually no side effects.

The Best Cysteine and the only one that is safe for the 18 and younger group. This is the one Doctors give their children.

Another Glutathione Boosting Alternative a less expensive version of the above. It is only for adults and does have a few contraindications. Make sure and ask your doctor or pharmacist before ordering this one. This requires taking twice a day as the half life of the supplement is only about 12 hours.

Both, according to the studies, will help.

Ulcerative Colitis: An Alternative Treatment with Glutathione?

Friday, November 6th, 2009

There is an ulcerative colitis alternative treatment by potentiating glutathione.

There does not seem to be any specific studies of the main glutathione building supplements. There are numerous related studies that seem to indicate ulcerative colitis is a low CG syndrome condition. Some studies look at using glutamine, a glutathione precursor. Another study looked at using N-Acetylcysteine or NAC in conjunction with an existing ulcerative colitis treatment. The results were outstanding.

There is even a larger body of anecdotal evidence that the glutathione boosting supplements has helped a number of people put their ulcerative colitis into remission, some for three years as of this writing.

The new section on ulcerative colitis at GlutathioneDiseaseCure.com explores this. It is just getting started. There is a lot more to come so please check back.

Hey, if you have an experience with these supplements helping you, please share them with the readers of UlteriorHealth.com
