Healthy Eating: Now it is a Mental Illness

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

The Guardian has an interesting post on the Healthy Eating Disorder.

Yes, eating healthy is now a disorder.

Ok, it may be true.

I do know some people who obsess over eating certain foods and supplements to the point that they feel they will live twice as long as those who do not. Yes they get crazy about healthy eating.

I personally plan on living forever. So far so good.

Where does that leave everyone else who are just trying to do the right thing.

Why do we as a society call it junk food? Why do unwanted things end up in the junk yard. Why do we throw away junk but eat junk food.

Now the answer is obvious. Unless you eat junk, you may be suffering from a mental illness.

Ooops, did I say that out loud.

And there is a sound scientific basis for thinking this way.
Consider: a Hostes Twinke has enough preservatives in it to have a shelf life of 7 years, I always thought that if you eat enough you could be preserved alive even if you die.

Good health to you.

What is Oxidative Stress

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

What is oxidative stress?

Often oxidation will be described as rust in side us. Although rust is a from of oxidation, it is not the same in humans. Not anything close.

Oxidation is better described by an apple first turning brown. Think of an apple as a cell. Then once the brown apple starts rotting, it will start the apples next to it to do the same. This is the basic problem.

Oxidation however does the same thing for bad cells. So it is not totally bad.

It needs to be balanced.

Look Ma, No Dandruff, No Chemicals, Low Cost Poo.

Have you experienced dandruff shampoo fail? They have never worked for me.

I always wondered why they were called sham-poo. Was there real poo out there. Is there any such thing as a healthy shampoo.

Turns out there is. It is cheap, it works and it is in your cupboard.

Baking Soda Hair Wash

1 Table Spoon Baking soda per cup of water (use about 2 cups per wash).
Sorry, there is no lathering. It will take a bit of getting used to.

Vinegar Rinse

One Table spoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water. It may take up to two cups. These can be stored in a bottle.

The vinegar is to neutralize the baking soda.

Next rinse. This will keep your hair from smelling like a tossed salad.

Cold water is best if you can handle it.

In just three days of doing this my dandruff all most totally disappeared. In a week it was totally gone.

More importantly, doing this eliminates exposing your scalp to the numerous chemicals and oil robbing detergents used in sham-poo.

Could those chemicals be an underlying cause of any of your health problems? They will not hurt you if you do not use them. This is not just a health thing. It is a frugal life style move.

Welcome to the world of UberFrugality. You will not only save money, you will save time, health and your life in one action.

Please let me know if it works for you too.

Good health to you.

Blood Transfusions: Another Reason to Avoid Them

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Dr. Richard Spence, one of the leading Bloodless Medicine and Surgery Doctors in the world has said that the blood transfusion you avoid may save your life.

Recent developments increase the list of benefits of avoiding transfusions in favor of treating with out blood.

Canada Bans Blood Donations From People with Chronic Fatigue

I am amazed at how many health care professionals will say they do not believe in Bloodless Medicine. It is not religion, it is science.

Science has shown there are safer ways to boost blood counts than transfusions.

I know this as both a scientist and as a nurse who has case managed over 600 cases of those refusing blood, the majority for reasons other than religious ones. The doctors in these cases were all surprised that these patients were getting out of the hospital even faster than those who got blood.

Note that you cannot refuse blood transfusions and do nothing. There needs to be an experienced and skilled bloodless team in place providing your care.

Good health to you.
