Raw Food Diet: Eat You Way to Health

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

We are making a change in our position on supplements.

What if there was a better, less expensive and more effective way to boost your glutathione.

We are exploring this benefit coming from the raw food diet.

232 Toxic Chemicals In Newborns

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

In a report from laboratory tests commissioned by Environmental Working Group it was found that of the 10 babies tested, 232 toxic chemicals were found in them.

This means moms had the chemicals and passed them to their babies.

Is it time to kick the chemical habit?

Chemicals in everything from what we put on our heads to what we put our toes into. It could be in the form of sham-poo (after all, real poo is just way too expensive), hair spray and chemical hari kari treatments to color and perm our hair.

It could be soaps and deodorants, and perfumes.

Then the list really gets long with the chemicals in the foods we eat.

Finally, environmental exposures to chemicals.

Just walking down the isle where the pesticides reside at the local box store smells like a chemical factory. No problem though, as people walk through the store, breathing in the toxic chemicals, it gets absorbed and filtered out, helping to reduce the exposure to the rest of us.

We cannot discontinue the exposure to chemicals totally. However we can start.

Is it time to take charge of our health?

Is it time to make a change?

Start by reducing the use of plastic and stop using it for cooking, especially in the microwave.

Good health to you.

Glaucoma Cures?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Glaucoma is the leading cause of preventable blindness.

Are there glaucoma cures?

Perhaps a better question, is there a glaucoma prevention treatment.

Some are genetically predisposed to get glaucoma. If any of your relatives have or had glaucoma, you are at risk.

There is a simple solution though.

In researching the subject, a common thread appeared under the heading glutathione.

By simply boosting the levels of Glutathione in the body, it may be possible to decrease the risk of getting primary glaucoma.

By the way, what is acute angle primary glaucoma or any of the other names of the kinds of glaucoma that there are?

These are all answered on GlutathioneDiseaseCure.com

Primary is in reference to not being secondary. So if you injured your eye and got glaucoma, the glaucoma, in medical speak would be secondary to the eye injury.

Guess what? Every day we are injuring our eyes. By boosting our glutathione we can protect the eyes.

And it does not need to cost much more than your next meal. Note that this is not the cost of your next meal in addition to your next meal. All it will cost is your next meal.

This is because most of what we need can be obtained by eating a raw food diet.

How much, we are working on but at least 50 percent of your diet for now.

So instead of eating cooked veggies, eat them raw if it is safe to do so.

Now, on to the glutathione information.

More on B Vitamins and Schizophrenia

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

A commenter posted…

You start your ‘factoid’ with the observation that B3 is “an anti-schizophrenia vitamin” then go on to express the bias that it can be obtained through “B vitamin foods”. You need to do a willed suspension of disbelief and bone up on how much Niacin is required to cure schizophrenia…, which is impossible to get from diet alone, as it is only effective in megadoses not possible to be gotten simply from food (one needs 4 to 6 grams ((4,000 – 6,000 mg) of Niacin per day)…… (italics Ours)

There is a problem with any clinical trial that drug makers have when it comes to mental health issues. It is called excessive placebo response.

The numbers when I was in nursing school was at 50 percent. This means that about half of the people on trials either self improve or improve by taking a sugar pill.

So, yes indeed, simply making a positive dietary improvement in life along with eliminating other deleterious food chemicals like MSG and other neuro-excytotoxins, could indeed improve mental health.

We do not advocate taking mega doses like the posters comment suggests that it would take. A balanced diet following the principles of the raw food diet may work for many. Of course, there are no high level studies on this yet.

Those who have walked this path ahead of us suggest that it does indeed work.

Having dealt with this professionally, I am inclined to believe that there is sufficient anecdotal evidence to warrant further investigation.

Also, B vitamins work synergestically. Getting the necessary nutrients from food is the safest way to heal our bodies.

Besides, since a large number of patients refuse to take their medications because of the way the drugs makes them feel, what could it hurt to eat healthy.

Good mental health to you.

Medical Tourism: Save Thousands, no Hundreds of Thousands

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

Medical tourism not only will save you money, if you do not have insurance and do not have a lot of money, it may save your life.

Consider a patient turned down by a large teaching hospital because he did not have the $200,000 it would cost for the procedure. No insurance either.

Instead, using the marvels of medical tourism, it was possible to get the same treatment in another country for under $35,000.

This included air fare.

There is much more to be reported on this.

Please come back.

Till then, here are a few links on this.

Focused Ultrasound: A New Way to Kill Cancer?

This is rather interesting. Using focused ultrasound to kill cancer.

Gutathione:
Use it or Loose it, Use it and loose it.

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Glutathione is like the electric charge in a battery. If you use it, you loose it. However, failure to use it means loosing as well. Only you will lose muscle and the glutathione is of no benefit.

Consider this study in Journal of Physiology, December, 2010

The study was looking at something else but it provides a clue to how our bodies use glutathione.

It reminds us of something that is intuitive. If we do not use muscles, we loose them. More importantly, failure to exercise results in oxidative stress. This oxidative stress is not well managed by our glutathione.

While the body made more glutathione, the concentration did not change. Glutathione failed to protect the muscle from atrophy.

This may mean that the best practice of boosting glutathione includes at the least, activity. At the best, at least mild exercise.

Even someone on bed rest can have range of motion movement given to them by nurses or therapy.

You can boost glutathione by a simple diet change to raw foods.

Good health to you.

Why Avoid Roundup Ready GMOs to Improve Your Health

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

You may have heard of the Roundup controversy.

What you probably do not know is that Roundup (glyphosate) and other pesticides end up in the food we eat.

This is from Dr Don Huber, PhD, professor emeritus at Purdue University.

We are just learning that Roundup has an effect on the defensive enzymes in our bodies. These enzymes help keep us healthy.

Also, Roundup reduces a plant’s ability to absorb the vital micronutrients that are essential for our survival.

More on GMOs

What can we do to stop this?

Simple.

Stop eating RoundUp ready GMO foods. Boycott them. Avoid them like the plague they will eventually bring upon us.

Good Health to You.
