Eat in the Nude to Lose Weight

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

I could not pass up commenting on this one.

On the John Tesh Radio Show, John shared a comment on how eating in front of a mirror in the nude could help you loose weight.

Doing this will help you in numerous ways both psychological and physiologically.

When you do, you will start a mental process about the only body you will have for the rest of your life. Your image of it and respect for it will help you take care of it.

Add mental imaging and take it a bit farther. Imagine a patty of butter on your potato. Imagine as you eat that butter flavored potato, that patty is now traveling straight to the hips or love handles. That is exactly what it does. When the body does not use excess fat as fuel, it stores it as excess fat.

Much better to substitute a teaspoon of virgin olive oil mixed with your choice of seasonings.

Finally, one word of caution.

DO NOT COOK in the NUDE! Yes, I am shouting. In the burn unit of one of my former employers, I would see at least one and as many as three burn patients a week that suffered from cooking related burns.

The same goes for the feet too. Do not cook in bare feet. Grease or splashing boiling water can cause sever injury.

So, try out this weight loss technique. This is perhaps one of the most ulterior motivators for weight loss we have ever heard. Thanks John Tesh for finding and sharing this info.

Good health to you.

Almonds: Do they Help You Lose Weight?

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

The answer is yes. Here is the study from 2003.

Almonds vs complex carbohydrates in a weight reduction program.

CONCLUSION: Eating several ounces of almonds a day can improve a number of problems associated with metabolic syndrome. They even reduced diabetic medication needs.

Almonds decreased body weight, decreased fat and improved health in a number of ways. The weight loss was beyond that of the weight loss using drugs. This study was from a few years ago.

To get the best results: either eat raw or organic almonds, a minimum of several to a few dozen or more.

Something Wonderfully Weird

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I came across a truly weird and yet wonderful way to energize yourself and lose weight in the process.

Without getting geeky on you as to how or why it works, just ask this question of yourself.

What do I have to lose? Besides the weight, which is a secondary benefit, do this and you will feel more energized.

Ready….

First the disclaimer…

Do not do this if you have any medical conditions where this would be contraindicated. Do not do this if you have just had a lot to drink, especially the alcoholic kind of drink. Do not do this if common sense says you should not. And do not do this unless your doctor says it is ok to do.

Simply hold your arms out horizontal and as you look straight ahead, hold one to the left and one arm to the right. Palms facing the floor.

Now, spin in a circle the same way a clock does.

It will make you dizzy. If you feel nauseous, you will need to start slower.

By the way, if you ever feel dizzy and nauseous and you have not spun in a circle, you need to go to an ER. Not to your doctor, to an ER. You may have a life threatening condition. Ticking time bomb life threatening. Go, now.

Otherwise, start slow. Rest a minute in between each set. Work up to twenty revolutions and work up to about 4-5 sets.

I will be out of town for a few days. More when I come back.

Let me know what becomes.

Good health to you.

Is Your Weight Related to Food Allergies

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Is your weight challenge or disease the result of your diet? More specifically, allergies to food in your diet.

It is possible there is a pandemic of food allergies.

This is because when we eat the same food over and over, our body will no longer be able to deal with it an we become allergic.

Our allergic reaction may not be as overt as hives, a rash or other immediate signs.

When the immune system is weakened, the white blood cells will sometimes attack healthy organs. These are called auto-immune diseases.

Some of the diseases attributed to this process are…

Rheumatoid arthritis
diabetes
colitis
dermatitis
cancer
kidney diseases
lung diseases

One lady found she was allergic to certain foods she ate all the time. On totally eliminating the offending foods she was able to shed 40 pounds.

Her diet success came from eliminating the foods she ate all the time and eating a balanced diet.

So balanced diet is not limited to 1/3 protein, 1/3 carbs, 1/3 fiber. Balance also includes rotating the foods we eat on a daily basis and not eating the same foods every day.

Sounds daunting doesn’t it. It is not as hard as you think. Weight loss may be as easy as just changing your diet.

We will have some diet plans and some recipes in the future.
